Qi Gong: ‘dynamic energy exercises or breath work’
Qi Gong is an ancient Traditional Chinese Medicine practice. Qi Gong can be translated as ‘the study of Qi’. Qi is one of the most complex concepts in traditional Chinese culture, according to which the outside environment and the internal environment (the body) can be conceived as pathways. In fact Gong is an art that requires a skill acquired through constant study; a talent carefully cultivated.
Qi is a term used to describe collectively all these pathways in their various forms.
The concept of dynamic balance belongs to Traditional Chinese Medicine - the greater the fluidity, speed, synchrony and cooperation of the movement of Qi the greater the balance, strength, resistance and ability to adapt to your environment.
Qi Gong covers three main aspects:
• Body control (positions)
• Mind control (calm)
• Breathing control (respiration)
Qi Gong’s influence over the physical is global with positive effects on every organ and system of the human body, from the prevention and cure of illnesses to the increase of life expectancy.
Qi Gong and Zen Shiatsu are dependent one on the other.
